StoryTimeZZZ Terms of Use

These terms apply to the StoryTimeZZZ app for Android and to the service behind it, published by Perlicom Systems Limited, a company registered in Ireland under company number 546999 ("we", "us"). By installing or using StoryTimeZZZ you agree to them. How we handle data is explained in the StoryTimeZZZ Privacy Policy.
1. Who may use StoryTimeZZZ
The account holder must be 18 or over. StoryTimeZZZ makes stories for children, but it is an adult's app: only the account holder signs in, adds a child, buys anything or changes a setting. Children use it with a grown-up, not on their own, and have no account. By adding a child you confirm you are that child's parent or guardian, or have their parent or guardian's permission.
2. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use StoryTimeZZZ on Android devices you own or control, for your family's own personal use, in line with these terms and the Google Play Terms of Service. You may not copy, sell, rent, sub-licence or redistribute the app or the stories it makes for you as a commercial product, or reverse engineer, decompile or modify the app, except where the law allows this regardless of these terms. We and our licensors keep all rights in the app that are not expressly granted to you.
3. What the app does
You choose a child, a world, a theme and a lesson; our service writes a story for them, illustrates it, and can read it aloud. The stories are generated by artificial intelligence to your brief. They are not written or checked line by line by a person before you see them.
4. AI-made stories — read this one
- We put real effort into age-appropriate, gentle, bedtime-suitable content: the age you set drives the reading level and the safety rules a story is written under, and every picture is checked automatically before it reaches you.
- No automated system is perfect. A story may still contain a mistake, an oddity, a wrong fact, artwork that does not match the words, or something you would rather your child did not read. You are the grown-up in the room: skim a new story before you read it at bedtime, and use the report and delete options if something is wrong.
- Nothing a story says is advice — not medical, educational, psychological or any other kind. Where a story features a child's needs or aids, it is there so your child sees themselves in it, and nothing more.
- AI systems can produce similar output for similar requests, so we cannot promise a story is unique, and we do not claim copyright over the words and pictures on your behalf. Between you and us, the stories in your library are yours to read, print and keep for your family's own use.
5. Tokens
- Making a story, adding a storyteller voice or adding an interactive page costs tokens. The cost is shown in the app before you confirm, and nothing is spent without that confirmation.
- New accounts start with a number of free tokens, and StoryTimeZZZ Pro adds tokens every month.
- Token packs are bought through Google Play as consumable in-app products. Tokens have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, cannot be transferred between accounts, and do not expire while your account exists.
- Unused tokens are not refundable, and they are lost if you delete your account. If a story fails to generate through a fault on our side, the tokens for it are not charged, or are returned; if that does not happen, e-mail support@perlicom.com and we will put it right.
6. StoryTimeZZZ Pro
- StoryTimeZZZ Pro is an auto-renewing subscription sold through Google Play. It removes all advertising and adds a monthly allowance of tokens, as described in the app and on the Google Play listing at the time of purchase.
- It renews at the end of each period, at the price shown, until you cancel. You cancel it in Google Play (Play Store > your profile > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions), not in the app; uninstalling the app does not cancel it. Cancelling stops the next renewal and Pro continues until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Tokens already granted by Pro stay in your wallet when the subscription ends.
- Refunds are handled by Google Play under Google Play's refund policy. You can also e-mail support@perlicom.com and we will help.
- Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer, including any right to withdraw from a purchase under EU consumer law.
The free version is supported by advertising on the grown-up's screens — a banner on the shelf, and occasionally a full-screen advert at a natural break once a book is finished — as described in the Privacy Policy. Adverts are marked child-directed and non-personalised. There is never an advert inside a story, on a reading page or between the pages of a book.
7. Your content, and what we may do with it
What you type — a child's name and details, a story idea — stays yours. To run the service you give us a licence to store that content and to send it to the AI providers listed in the Privacy Policy, for the sole purpose of making, illustrating, narrating and keeping your stories.
We also keep the words and artwork in a name-stripped form, with every character replaced by a placeholder and every personal detail removed, so that later stories are faster and cheaper to make for everybody. You grant us a licence to use those name-stripped templates in that way. They identify nobody, and they are not deleted with your account; if artwork was painted from how your child looks and you want it removed, e-mail support@perlicom.com.
You must not use StoryTimeZZZ to create content that is unlawful, hateful, sexual, violent, harassing or otherwise harmful, to impersonate anyone, or to attempt to get around the app's content safeguards. We may refuse a request, and may suspend an account that is used this way.
8. Your account
You sign in with Google. Keep that Google account secure — anyone who can use it can reach your children's profiles and your tokens. You can delete your account, and everything in it, from Settings > Delete my account; what is erased and what is kept is set out in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms, or where we are required to.
9. Updates and availability
StoryTimeZZZ depends on our servers and on third-party AI providers, so it needs an internet connection to make a story, and it can be interrupted, slowed or temporarily unavailable. We may update the app to fix problems, add or change features, or meet legal and store requirements, and we may change what a token buys or what Pro includes — for anything that reduces what you have already paid for, we will give notice in the app first. Stories already in your library stay there.
If we ever discontinue the service, we will give reasonable notice and a way to save the stories you have.
10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
StoryTimeZZZ is a story-making app for entertainment and bedtime. It is not a medical, therapeutic or educational device and makes no clinical or educational claim. Where it reflects a child's needs in a story, that is representation, not treatment or advice.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, StoryTimeZZZ is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind beyond those the law requires, including any warranty about the accuracy, suitability or originality of AI-generated content. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, business or opportunity arising from use of the app. Our total liability to you in connection with the app is limited to the amount you paid us through Google Play in the twelve months before the claim, or €50, whichever is greater.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the law that applies to you, including your rights as a consumer under Irish and EU law.
11. Ending these terms
You can stop using StoryTimeZZZ at any time by cancelling any subscription in Google Play, deleting your account in the app, and uninstalling it. We may suspend or end your licence if you break these terms. Sections 7, 10 and 12 continue to apply afterwards.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the Irish courts have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the EU or in the UK, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country and may bring proceedings there.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when the app changes. The effective date above shows the current version. Material changes will be highlighted in the app or on the Google Play listing.
